This is an opera filled with unhappy love and tragedy, and the young Tatiana's way from sentimental teenager to a grown woman is one of the most convincing portraits of a female heroine in the history of literature, and opera.

The length of the opera is 3 hours and 40 minutes, and it is in three acts.
It is sung in its original language Russian, but with Metropolitans individual translating system "Met titles"it is possible to see the text translated to English, German or Spanish.
